Field Policies - Start-up Date

FIELD START-UP DATE POLICY STATEMENT

To facilitate the provision and accessibility of playing fields within the Town of Cochrane for spring start-up.

REASON FOR POLICY
To establish opening dates for field playability and help user groups with schedule planning.

APPLICABILITY
This policy applies to all local/visiting clubs/teams, user groups both competitive and recreational.

Field Start-Up Dates Process:
The Town of Cochrane/Cochrane Rangers Soccer Club will endeavor to open playing fields to local and visiting groups as soon as playing fields are fit and safe for all players. The decision of field playability will be determined by the following criteria:

Fields will be free of snow.
Fields will be free of ground frost depth.
Fields should be power raked.
Fields shall be free of all obstructions such as holes, standing water, debris, etc.
Fields should have at least one mower cut before teams can access grounds.
Fields should be lined.
Fields should have goal posts secured and in place.
Consideration of competitive league schedules.

FIELD OPENING TIMES
For field playability users can access the Cochrane Rain Out Line at 851-2552.

TEAMS AND PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES
It is the responsibility of each user group to ensure that all affected parties are aware of the 851-2552 Line and field access policies. It is expected that all user groups will support the purpose and respect the policy for field closures.

STATEMENT
The opening of fields in spring is top priority of the Town of Cochrane and Cochrane Rangers Soccer Club. Many factors may delay opening of fields to the public due to conditions that are beyond the control of the Town of Cochrane and Cochrane Rangers Soccer Club. We will endeavor to work with all groups to open fields in a timely manner.
